Important information about texture

As this is a toffee-based sweet, the firmness of the product can naturally vary.

Temperature can affect the texture of toffee. In a cooler environment, the sweets may become firmer or harder. In warmer conditions, the toffee may become softer and chewier.

If you prefer a softer, chewier texture, allow the sweets to come up to a warmer room temperature before eating. If you prefer a firmer texture, they can be stored in a cooler environment or refrigerated.

A harder or softer texture does not mean the product is faulty. This is a normal characteristic of traditional toffee confectionery and can change depending on storage and temperature.

The word “Teacakes” is the traditional name of this confectionery product. These are toffee and coconut sweets and should not be confused with bakery-style teacakes, sponge cakes, marshmallow teacakes or biscuits.
